David Adjmi (Minneapolis, MN) was the recent recipient of the Kesselring Prize for Drama. A collection of his work, Stunning and Other Plays, will be published by Theatre Communications Group early in 2010; his play The Evildoers was developed at Sundance and received its world premiere at Yale Repertory Theatre in January 2008. Stunning premiered at Woolly Mammoth Theatre, was subsequently published in American Theatre magazine and will receive a production at Lincoln Center’s LCT3 in the spring. Other plays include Marie Antoinette (Soho Rep W/D Lab, Sundance/Public Theatre Residency, Goodman Theatre New Stages Series), Caligula (Soho Rep Studio Series), Elective Affinities (Royal Shakespeare Company in London and Stratford-on-Avon) and Strange Attractors (Empty Space). Awards include the McKnight Advancement Grant, the Jerome Fellowship, the Helen Merrill Award, the Marian Seldes-Garson Kanin Award, a Royal Court International Residency, the Cherry Lane Mentor Project Fellowship and others. A member of New Dramatists, Adjmi has been awarded commissions from Lincoln Center, Yale Rep, Berkeley Rep and the Royal Court.
